Jaguar Land Rover Halewood is proud to be part of Knowsley. The Merseyside operation of the UK’s largest car manufacturer sits on a 300-acre site, with the factory employing approximately 3,700 people directly and supporting a further 1,000 people indirectly through its suppliers and contractors.
JLR Halewood produces the award-winning Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover Discovery Sport, which includes plug-in and hybrid models. Earlier this year, JLR announced that Halewood would be the company’s first all-electric plant, as part of JLR’s global Reimagine strategy.
Also this year, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Halewood manufacturing site, JLR hosted a Proud Creators’ Day for employees (approximately 50% of its workforce have Knowsley postcodes) and HRH The Princess Royal visited the site to recognise the factory’s diamond anniversary year and hear about JLR Halewood’s contributions to the local community.
Through the company’s Motorvate scheme, in the last 12 months JLR Halewood has donated three Discovery Sport vehicles to worthwhile local charities and many, many other charities across the region have also received donations, with the total amount of funding in past years exceeding £130,000
