United in Diversity

This award recognises the business or individual who has done the most to demonstrate commitment to promoting and supporting employees from under-represented and minority backgrounds on their journey from the front line to the boardroom. Celebrating the power of ethnic talent and enterprise, this award will be presented to a business owner or resident of Knowsley from a multi-ethnic background who can demonstrate that they have made a significant positive impact over the last year in business excellence and/or advocacy, community initiative and personal achievement in furtherance of the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda of Knowsley.

In shortlisting, judges will consider the evidence provided for the following:

  • The business or personal journey, for example what makes the business a success, how the business or individual has adapted and flourished over the last year and what makes this special.

  • Demonstration of personal growth and resilience in a way that inspires others.

  • Demonstration of positive and lasting social or economic impact on ethnic communities and the rest of the borough of Knowsley.

  • Actively fosters understanding, respect, and collaboration across different ethnicities through community events.

  • Exemplary leadership in community projects that promote unity and shared goals in the borough of Knowsley.

  • Commitment to promoting and supporting employees from under-represented and minority backgrounds.
