CATEGORIES AND NOMINATIONS

There are a number of categories available for the 2019 Knowsley Business Awards.

Whether you are at the beginning of your journey – as an apprentice or micro business – or further along, there are categories open to all Knowsley business community members.

This year, the traditional categories of Small Business of the Year and Medium Business of the Year, are joined by new categories such as Independent Business of the Year and High Growth Business of the Year – demonstrating not only the remarkable and unique identity that Knowsley is known for, but the ambition and drive that we possess too.

The deadline has been extended to MONDAY 9 SEPTEMBER at 5pm, no extensions will be given beyond this date.

Each category below contains all the information you require to submit your nomination, including the forms you need.

CATEGORIES IN FOCUS

We’re delighted to shine a spotlight on a selection of categories this year.

The 2019 Knowsley Business Awards judges are looking for the very best-in-class of Knowsley businesses, who demonstrate excellence in their areas of note but they would especially like to see Knowsley businesses put themselves forward for the following:

  • Customer Commitment – do you demonstrate excellence in customer service? Do you place value on the overall “customer journey and customer experience”? The judges want to see how you build relationships, gain loyalty, interact with your customers or clients and how you map customer satisfaction.

  • High Growth Business of the Year – the judges want to see evidence of high growth generated within the last 3 years. Are you a business racing ahead of your competition in your field? Has your turnover grown? Have your staff numbers increased? Business growth isn’t just about financial gains – we want to see how your contributions have been positive across the board.

  • Excellence in Manufacturing – we have two awards available (one for 1-49 employees and one for 50+ employees) Are you truly “Made in Knowsley”? The judges want to see innovation, quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Housing Development of the Year – are you a housing developer working on a new build, refurbishment or transformation project? The judges want to see how you demonstrate quality, choice, design, innovation, sustainability and consideration for the environment. It doesn’t matter if your scheme hasn’t completed, as long as it has started within the last 12 months. We want to see how you promote Knowsley as “the place to live, work, visit and invest”

  • Independent Business of the Year – are you a business with personality? The judges are looking for a business with a distinctive character, innovative culture, first-class customer service and involvement with the Knowsley community?

  • Micro Business of the Year – the judges are looking for sole traders, partnerships and businesses that are not part of larger organisations and can demonstrate their business journey, development and innovation.
